Breakfast at your hotel in Luxor, and then your Egyptologist tour guide will pick you up and start your Luxor east and west bank day tours. Your first stop will be at the two Colossi of Memnon, the only remains of the Mortuary Temple of Amenhotep III (1390–1352 B.C).
Head to the Valley of the Kings, the major burial ground for most of the royal pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom (from 1550 to 1080 B.C). You will visit 3 tombs excluding the Tomb of King Tutankhamun, Seti I and Ramses VI (Extra ticket on spot).
Proceed to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, which is considered by historians to have been one of the most successful rulers of ancient Egypt. Both the setting and the construction of her temple make it unique among the landmarks of Egypt.
Enjoy Lunch at a good quality local restaurant, and then move on to explore the east bank of the Nile in Luxor. Visit Karnak Temple, the largest ancient religious complex ever constructed in Egypt. Entering the complex through a ram-headed avenue of sphinxes and uncover a vast array of temples, chapels, pylons and other ancient buildings as you soak up the unique atmosphere and let your imagination run wild as you learn about cult and beliefs in Ancient Egypt.
Continue to Luxor Temple, you will enter the temple through the great pylon where two enormous statues of Ramses II still stand, along with a pink granite obelisk (its mate stands in the Place de la Concorde in Paris, France). The Temple Of Luxor was built by Amenhotep III during the 18th Dynasty and was completed by Ramesses II during the 19th Dynasty. Later you will be transferred back to your hotel in Luxor.
Optional: You have the choice to rise very early to see the West Bank of Luxor from above on an optional Sunrise hot air balloon ride.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Breakfast and then your tour guide will pick you up and drive for almost 45 minutes to the Theban necropolis in Luxor west bank. Start at the Valley of the Nobles, where the ancient Egypt’s nobles and high officials were buried. The Nobles tombs are decorated with daily live scenes, funerals, and ideal afterlives of their owners. These tombs provide us with a wealth of information about life and religious beliefs in ancient Egypt.
Proceed to Deir el-Medina, the place was called Set Maat “The Place of Truth”. It was home to the artisans and workmen responsible for constructing the royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings. Uncover two of the finest decorated tombs of Sennedjem, Inherkau and the Ptolemaic temple, dedicated to the goddesses Hathor and Maat.
Continue to visit Madinat Habu Temple of king Ramses III, the last great warrior pharaoh of Egypt. The Temple is the best-preserved on the west bank of The Nile in Luxor. It is decorated with military scenes and texts illustrating the victories of the king, as well as the rituals performed and festivals celebrated. A royal palace was attached at the south of the Temple open forecourt, while priests’ dwellings and administrative units lay on either side of the temple. After finished, transfer to Luxor Airport for final departure.
