  • Day 1: Arrive into Cairo, transfer to hotel

    Welcome to Cairo, Egypt! Upon your arrival at Cairo International Airport, your will meet your representative inside the customs area holding a sign board with your name on it. After being assisted with immigration formalities, you will be transferred to your hotel. Check in and the rest of the day is free to settle and relax after your long journey.
    NB: If your flight arrives earlier in the day, perhaps you might choose to take an evening dinner cruise on the Nile or sound and light show at the pyramids (both available to book locally on arrival).

    Day 2: Pyramids of Giza, Sphinx, Memphis and Saqqara Necropolis

    After breakfast, your professional Egyptologist tour guide will meet you at your hotel lobby and then you will drive to start the day with a tour of the Pyramids of Giza. Enjoy fantastic introduction to the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mycerinus which are erected on a rocky plateau on the west bank of the Nile River. Whilst here, you have the chance to visit inside the great Pyramid (Extra ticket on spot). Drive to have the pyramids panorama view to take photos. Move on to visit the Valley temple and the great Sphinx.

    Move on to visit Memphis, the first capital of the united Egypt, founded by King Menes almost 3100 BC. Today there are little left in the oldest city but still can see an open air museum of antiquities. You can see the statue of Ramses II, the Alabaster sphinx and more

    Continue to discover Saqqara, the Necropolis of ancient Memphis and home to the Step Pyramid of King Djoser. The architect Imhotep designed a new form of burial structure in the form of a step pyramid in six stages. Later on transfer back to your hotel to relax or opt for an extra tour to attend the Pyramids sound and light show

    Day 3: Alexandria Day Tour

    Breakfast at your hotel and then your guide & driver will pick you up and drive for almost 3 hours to the Mediterranean coastal city of Alexandria, founded by Alexander the great in 331 B.C. On arrival, discover the catacombs of Kom El-Shuqqafa. It is a necropolis of 3 sub-levels dating from the 2nd century AD. It merges Egyptian, Greek, and Roman culture in its features. The catacombs of Kom El-Shuqqafa, is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages.

    Proceed to see Pompey’s Pillar, is dedicated to the Greco-Egyptian deity Serapis and the largest of its type constructed outside of the imperial capitals of Rome and Constantinople.

    Continue to see the Roman amphitheater, is an excellent ancient structure of Roman period of Egypt. The theater is a well preserved marble theater that once seated 800 spectators, surrounded by the Roman baths and villas with galleries, sections of mosaic flooring, and a pleasure garden

    Afterwards you will drive to discover the 15th-century defensive Citadel of Qaitbay, located on the Mediterranean Sea coast. It was erected on the exact site of the famous Lighthouse of Alexandria, which was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

    Move to visit Alexandria library, it is a striking piece of modern design that stands in contrast to the ancient architecture found throughout Egypt. You will have free time to enter the library (extra cost on spot) though local guide will show you the library inside. After finished, you will drive back to your hotel in Cairo & free time to relax

    Day 4: Egyptian Museum, Citadel of Saladin, Coptic & Islamic Cairo

    After breakfast, your Egyptologist tour guide will escort you to visit the Egyptian Museum, home to an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities. It has 120,000 items, with a representative amount on display. Amongst which you can explore the collection of Tutankhamun treasures including the solid-gold mask and other treasures include jewelry, ornaments of all kinds and other objects

    Proceed to visit the Citadel of Saladin, is a medieval Islamic-era fortification in Cairo, built by sultan Saladin in 1176. You will explore the Mohamed Ali Mosque, due to its prominent features. The mosque was built on the summit of the Citadel of Saladin between 1830 and 1848.

    Afterwards, drive to Coptic Cairo to visit the famed Hanging Church, a place of Orthodox worship and one of the oldest churches in Egypt. Next, walk to Abu Serga, known formally as Saints Sergius and Bacchus Church. This place has great significance as it is believed to be the spot where the Holy Family spent time during their journey in Egypt. Walk to Ben Ezra synagogue, which is the reputed location of Moses’ discovery as a baby.

    Continue to discover Islamic Cairo and walk along the most famous street in Cairo, the oldest souk of Khan El-Khalili. After finished, you will be transferred to your hotel to relax.

    Day 5: Fly Cairo to Luxor / Hotel in Luxor

    Check out after breakfast, and then transfer to Cairo Airport to fly to Luxor. On arrival, meet, assist and transfer to your hotel in Luxor and relax in the beautiful gardens of your hotel in Luxor and free time to relax or enjoy a dip in the hotel swimming pool, catch up on some reading or simply enjoy the Nile Valley view and explore the city of Luxor at leisure

    Day 6: Luxor East Bank Tour to Karnak & Luxor temples

    Breakfast and then you will start to visit the Temples of Karnak, the largest religious temple ever built in Egypt. The temple dedicated to the Theban triad of gods, with Amon-Re on its top and his wife Mut and their son Khonsu. On entering the Karnak temple, you will walk along the avenue of Sphinxes, the great pylon and the great hall of 134 columns towering above you like an ancient forest, the obelisks, the sanctuary of Philip II arrhidaeus of Macedon, The Akh Menu of Tuthmosis III (1479–1425 BC) and the sacred lake. After a tour of the Karnak temple complex, you will have additional free time to explore at leisure

    The next stop will be at the sandstone Luxor Temple located at the other end of the Sphinx Avenue that extend from Karnak temple. The temple building was started by Amenhotep III and completed by Tutankhamun, Ramses II and Alexander the great made some additions to it. Once it was adorned by six massive royal statues of Ramses II and two obelisks, one of which is the famous Obelisk at La Place de la Concorde in Paris and then free time to explore at leisure

    Return to your Hotel in Luxor having free time in the afternoon to relax or explore Luxor

    Optional: Balloon Flight – Choose to add an optional hot air balloon flight for a fascinating bird’s-eye view of the ancient sites. Additional cost, please book on tour.

    Day 7: Luxor west bank / Transfer to Nile Cruise

    Check out after breakfast, you will be transferred to visit Luxor west bank, begin at the Colossi of Memnon, are two massive sandstone statues which once flanked the gateway in front of the Mortuary temple of the Pharaoh Amenhotep III (Reigned 1390–1353 BC).

    Next drive to visit the most spectacular royal burial site of the Valley of the Kings, buried under the arid hills here are over 62 tombs of pharaohs, many richly decorated with reliefs and paintings. You will visit three of the most interesting royal tombs, where the pharaohs of the New Kingdom (16th to 11th century BC) were secretly interred for all eternity, and where discoveries are still being made Whilst here, you will have time to visit inside Tutankhamun tomb (Extra ticket on spot)

    Continue to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, a stunning colonnaded building set against high cliffs that create a spectacular natural amphitheater. One of Egypt’s greatest queens, she built this temple to prove her importance among the ancestors.

    After finished, transfer to your Nile Cruise, we arrive at the cruise boat in time for lunch on board, then having free time in the afternoon to relax or explore Luxor

    Day 8: Nile Cruise Luxor west bank II / Sail to Edfu

    Breakfast, your Egyptologist tour guide will escort you to visit Luxor west bank part II (Theban necropolis). Our first stop will be at the Valley of the Nobles which may lack the star power of the Valley of the Kings or other Luxor hotspots but it is well worth a visit. This is a cemetery with hundreds of tombs belonging to the members of the Egyptian aristocracy cut in the rock, richly decorated with wonderfully detailed scenes of their daily lives.

    Proceed to the Valley of the Workers, at Deir el-Medina. It is a site of a complete village that housed the skilled craftsmen and laborers that worked on the tombs in the Valley of the Kings, and the Valley of the Queens were lived and buried here.

    Continue to visit Medinet Habu temple of Ramses III, it is the best preserved in the west bank of Luxor. Hebu temple is the second largest in Luxor after Karnak and is related in both style and scale to the nearby Ramesseum Temple. Aside from its size and architectural and artistic importance, the temple is probably best known as the source of inscribed reliefs depicting the advent and defeat of the Sea Peoples during the reign of Ramesses III.

    Return to the Cruise ship for lunch, and begin sailing towards Edfu today you will enjoy a quiet day sailing Up-stream along the Nile Valley to Aswan. During this pleasant journey, free time on board to dip in the pool, catch up on some reading or simply enjoy the Nile Valley view before arriving late evening in Edfu & Overnight

    Day 9: Edfu & Kom ombo Temples

    After breakfast on board, you will enjoy horse & Carriage return way ride (The only mode of transport available) to visit Edfu temple, dedicated to Horus the falcon headed god. Consider one of the best preserved of all the Egyptian Temples. The Temple was built during the Greek Period in Egypt between 237 – 57 BC.

    Return to the cruise boat where you’ll continue cruising upstream, with free time to relax on the sundeck and taking in the surrounding sights – desert hills forming a backdrop to lush riverbanks, fishermen casting their nets and farmers working their land.

    Later today, on arrival to Kom ombo, you will visit the unusual double temple of Kom-ombo, dedicated to both Sobek the Crocodile and the falcon god Haroeris “Horus the Elder”. The temple is atypical because everything is perfectly symmetrical along the main axis. Admire the fascinating detailed reliefs on the walls. Return to the ship for overnight, continue sailing to Aswan & overnight

    Day 10 : Aswan Tours & Nubian Village

    Today in the early morning, you will drive for almost 3 hours to visit the fabulous rock-hewn temple of Abu Simbel (1290–1223 BC). In the 1960s, the site was dismantled, lifted, and reassembled some 185 meters west and 65 meters above the original site, a feat of engineering rivaling the original construction of the temples. Stand at the base of the colossal statues of Ramses II and puzzle out the hieroglyphs carved on the walls of the inner hall. Return to Aswan and check in to your Nile Cruise in Aswan, Lunch on board.

    In the afternoon, you will enjoy Felucca trip (almost 1 hour). Enjoy a relaxing sailing aboard a Nile lateen sail felucca used along the Nile, “Weather permits!”

    Return to the Nile cruise boat & free time to relax or join the optional Nubian Village trip by a motorboat and cruise along the Nile River through the first Cataract to a Nubian village along the way, admire sweeping views over the river. Upon arrival, visit a traditional Nubian village in Gharb Soheil. Get an insight into the culture, history, and lifestyle of one of Africa’s oldest civilizations. Enjoy a drink at one of the colorful rural houses, nestled amongst the natural scenery. Walk through the local market to get a taste of the unique culture and traditions

    Day 11: Aswan Tours / Fly Aswan to Cairo

    Disembarkation after breakfast, then start to visit the unfinished obelisk, located in Aswan granite quarry. The unfinished obelisk gives an excellent idea about the mason work techniques in ancient Egypt.

    Proceed to visit Philae temple Island where there are complex of temples saved between 1972 – 1980. There are temples dates to different periods from Pharaonic to Greco-Romans period. The temple complex was dismantled and moved to nearby Agilkia Island as part of the UNESCO Nubia Campaign project, protecting this and other complexes before the 1970 completion of the Aswan High Dam.

    Continue to visit Aswan High Dam, a rock fill dam built across the Nile in Aswan between 1960-70 to control the Nile floods and produce electricity.

    Later on, you will be transferred to Aswan airport for your flight Aswan to Cairo. Upon arrival to Cairo airport, you will be transferred to your hotel & free time to relax

    Day 12: Dahshur and the Meidum Pyramids / Departure Transfer

    Your time is free today for some last minute sightseeing or shopping until we transfer you to the airport for your departure flight. If you have an afternoon or evening flight departure, then a half-day tour to learn more about the Dahshur and the Meidum Pyramids and more of the city this morning. Extra nights in Cairo are also available if you would like to extend your stay
