Welcome to Cairo, Egypt. You’ll be met and assisted on arrival at Cairo International Airport, and transferred to your hotel. At hotel, you will be assisted with a smooth check-in and confirm pick-up times for each tour. The rest of the day is free for you to settle, or if you arrive early you may like to take and optional tour: An evening dinner cruise on the Nile, or enjoy a spectacular sound and light show at the pyramids (both available to book locally on arrival).

Breakfast at your hotel in Cairo and then your Egyptologist guide will pick you up and accompany you to Giza Plateau. You will visit one of the world’s most famous sites, the three pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mycerinus. The Great Pyramid of Cheops is the oldest and largest of the three pyramids in Giza and the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and the only one to remain largely intact. Whilst here, you will have the opportunity of going inside one of the pyramids (Extra ticket on spot). Move on to the best place to take photos of the pyramids. Then drive to see the Valley temple and the great Sphinx.
Proceed to visit Memphis, the first capital of ancient Egypt. Its great temple, was one of the most prominent structures in the city. Today, there are little left in the oldest city but still can see the great colossus of Rameses II is displayed in the open-air museum and the outdoor houses numerous other colossi, statues, sphinxes, and more
Continue to Saqqara, you will see the oldest complete stone building complex known in history, the Step Pyramid of Djoser, built over 4700 years ago. You will also get the chance to see some fantastic Mastabas Tombs. After finished, transfer back to your hotel to relax

Breakfast at your hotel and then met by your Private Tour Guide will accompany you to visit the Egyptian Museum, home to the most impressive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities and treasures in the world. The Museum displays an astonishing number of over 120,000 artefacts including the treasures of the boy-King Tutankhamun. After a fantastic guided tour, you will enjoy free time to explore at leisure. You will have the chance to visit the Royal Mummies Hall (Extra ticket on spot).
Proceed to the Citadel of Saladin, which was built in 1176 on a promontory beneath the Muqattam Hills, a setting that made it difficult to attack. You will visit the alabaster Mosque of Muhammad Ali, an expansive Turkish-style interior is lit by a beautiful array of lamps and a Large Chandelier suspended from the intricately decorated ceiling built between 1830 and 1848. It is one of the landmarks and attractions that dominates the skyline of Cairo from every angle
Continue to visit Coptic Cairo, one of the most historic sites of Egypt’s early Christian period. Explore the Hanging Church which was built over the Roman gate towers (hence the name – Hanging Church). Then visit the Church of St. Sergius and Bacchus, where local legend says the Virgin Mary, baby Jesus, and family sheltered during King Herod’s massacre of male babies. Afterwards, you will visit Ben Ezra Synagogue, which is said to be built near the spot where the baby Moses was found in the reeds.
Your next stop today will be at the 14th century marketplace of Khan El-Khalili, one of Cairo’s main attractions for tourists and Egyptians alike, put your haggling skills to the test and get yourself a bargain souvenir. After finished, transfer to your hotel and free time to relax

Today you have the choice of having a free day at leisure in your Hotel in Cairo or join our most valuable optional tour to the second the largest city in Egypt. You will visit the catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa which are the largest Roman Cemetery, consist of a multi-level labyrinth cut in the rock. Proceed to Pompey’s Pillar, a Roman triumphal column set up in honour of the augustus Diocletian between 298-302 AD.
Head out to Kom El Deka to visit the Roman Amphitheater, although the ruins aren’t terribly impressive in scale, they remain a superbly preserved and include the 13 white-marble terraces of the only Roman era amphitheatre found in Egypt. Continue to see the Qaitbay Citadel which was built on the site of the ancient pharaohs (lighthouse) of Alexandria. You can also visit the Bibliotheca Alexandria (Extra ticket on spot). Lunch meal will be served at a good quality fish restaurant during the tour. After finished, transfer back to your hotel in Cairo.

Your time is free today for some last minute sightseeing in Cairo or shopping until we transfer you to Cairo airport for your departure flight. If you have an afternoon or evening departure flight, a day tour to learn more about the evolution of the pyramids to Launch a second visit to the Bent Pyramids at Dahshur and a second visit to the Pyramids of Giza or enjoy more of Islamic and Coptic Cairo sightseeing. If you would like to spend some more time in Egypt, we’ll be happy to book additional accommodation for you (subject to availability).
